Brigett’s first performance was at age 19 in blues band with a focus on Chicago blues greats and modern influences of Kenny Wayne Shepard and Jonny Lang. She then joined Blues Trip, a big show band, known for rocking contemporary blues and classic rock dance anthems that shook regional dance floors at fairs, casinos, clubs and private parties. "Russ is such an amazing harmonica player and brings out the deep sense of the moodiness and movement in every song he plays. He’s also a damn good bass player and I’ve seen video footage of him rocking Chicago stages to a packed house of adoring, dancing fools!"
Since he was 13 years old, Mickey has been playing music in local Topeka bands. His first gig in Kansas City was at Knuckleheads playing with Julie Major of Miss Major and her Minor Mood Swings, a rockabilly jump band. After playing with Julie for 6 years, he joined the Frank Ace Band. With Frank Ace, they competed and won the International Blues Competition (IBC) in Topeka and went to Memphis, meeting blues musicians from all over the world. Mick also plays with the Confessors periodically at B.B.'s. “This is my passion. I’ll never stop playing. If anything, I’ll have drumsticks in my hand when I die. They’re going with me."

"Mick is a rhythm king with a heart of gold. He takes chances and creates dynamics within each song that give everyone space to tell a story. He is constantly coming up with new material to play and gives me faith in myself to do it! Not to mention his salsa-making skills are truly next level."

"Roy, beyond being a phenomenal guitar and pedal steel player, is an endless source of new-to-me material that makes me rethink the songs I’ve always loved, gives context to their history, and challenges me to think outside of the box (you should see his record collection!)."

"Joe is a vocalist’s dream! Not only is he solid and steady but he brings the experimental groove that pushes standards into something way more fun and powerful. They should have been written that way! There is nothing better than watching his bobble-head move when he’s in a groove."
Kansas City blues roots band with a nod to the strong, whiskey-drinking women and the smokey, smooth playing men that built the blues.

"I told Russ that I wanted us to create a true ensemble group that would borrow from each of our backgrounds, blend styles, and tell powerful stories of love, loss, and living this crazy, unexpected, and ultimately beautiful life. Maybe not exactly those words, but pretty damn close! And I am so thankful for this group and the opportunity to do just that.
Who are the Bandoliers? Actually first, WHAT is a bandolier? (I had to google it!)
A bandolier is a cross body strap that holds ammunition (and coincidentally, harmonicas). I thought it was a good representation of something that holds the ability to either cause disruption and chaos (ammo) or create beauty and harmony (musical instrument). While blues songs can be filled with such misery and heartache, they are also relentlessly hopeful and embrace both chaos and harmony. And that’s where the magic lies.
So, we hope you come out to a show, find meaning and joy in what we do, book us for a gig, and share this journey with us.”
