"KIDMAN" Russ Schenke
Harmonica, Vocals
KidMan spent years playing bass in Blues, Roots, Americana, and Rock bands in Chicago, including the Bald Willies and the Juice Dogs. After moving to Kansas City, he focused for over a decade on blues harmonica, learning tone, style and skill from Lee McBee, Jimmie Meade and other KC harmonica greats.
KidMan on being a Bandolier, “People have been asking me for years about why I am not in a band, or when am I going to get a band going. I always said that when I find the right people and the right situation, then it will happen. Brigett and I hit it off after she saw me play with The Confessors at BB’s Lawnside BarB-Q on a Sunday evening. The following Sunday at BB’s we met Roy. The fit was just right,....”kindred spirits”, as Roy would say. Adding Joe and Mickey really made the project blossom. Every time we get together and play, I come away with such a musical high. I can’t wait to see where we will take this band.”
From Brigett:
"Russ is such an amazing harmonica player and brings out the deep sense of the moodiness and movement in every song he plays. He’s also a damn good bass player and I’ve seen video footage of him rocking Chicago stages to a packed house of adoring, dancing fools!"
